I am a proud Magpie and have a love of exploring and learning new techniques and processes and employing those in my practice, often combining them in new and exciting ways.

I especially love manually operated, tactile processes that have their own history, traditions and culture which all feed into my work and the messages I seek to express through it.

Eclecticism, mixed media, printmaking and sculptural forms...

Over the years I have worked in wrought iron, learning from a traditional master forger in Lincoln, Print making, studying at and using the facilities of the London Print Studios, combined Papercraft and textiles to create sculptural installations and even worked in chocolate!

Exhibition Work

Whilst I have received many commissions as an illustrator over the years, and sold numerous un-commissioned drawings, paintings and mixed media works I also have a body of work which is designed around installations and exhibition events.

Much of my own recent work is about creating a collaborative shared experience, where visitors to an exhibition aren’t just passive spectators but creatively engaged; sparking human interactions, bridging gaps and generating social discourse. I see this shared experience that I have engineered as the work itself more than the pieces of art that come from it even though the pieces are beautiful in themselves and people keep them, taking them away to create yet more discourse in their own homes. There are very strong parallels between what I enjoy in creating through my working practice and my work as a teacher.

More information about these will be added to this website in the future
